Konfiguracja routera w domu może być wykonana samodzielnie. Należy jednak zadbać o szczegóły. Musisz wiedzieć m. in. : jakie funkcje pełni router, jak zmienić parametry domowej sieci Wi-Fi i – przede wszystkim – jak dostać się do ustawień routera.

Router, czyli urządzenie, które pozwala na podzielenie Internetu dostarczanego przez operatora na wszystkie domowe urządzenia. Najczęściej dostajesz je od operatora. Większość dostawców sieci udostępnia urządzenia, które pełnią jednocześnie rolę modemu (czyli odbierają sygnał przesyłany kablem koncentrycznym czy np. komórkowy – w przypadku domowego LTE – i pozwalają na jego wykorzystanie przez komputer) i właśnie routera.

Jak skonfigurować router po jego otrzymaniu?

Podłączenie nowo otrzymanego routera, jeżeli nie zrobił tego za nas technik (bo np. umowę podpisywaliśmy na odległość), jest banalnie proste. Szczególnie, jeżeli łączymy go z komputerem kablem RJ-45 (czyli popularną „skrętką”). W takim wypadku wystarczy jedynie podłączyć urządzenie do prądu, kablem do Internetu, drugim do komputera i gotowe! Żadne dodatkowe działania nie są wymagane.

Nieco inaczej jest, gdy chcemy z Internetu korzystać za pośrednictwem Wi-Fi. To w większości przypadków przecież również ma miejsce. Nawet jeżeli komputer łączymy kablem, bezprzewodowy domowy Internet chcemy mieć np. w telefonie. Wtedy musimy jeszcze dopełnić procesu, znajdując odpowiednią nazwę sieci wśród wykrywanych przez nasze urządzenie i podając hasło dostępu.

Te powinny nam zostać dostarczone przez operatora.

Jak skonfigurować router bez szczegółowych informacji?

Co jednak, jeżeli z jakiegoś powodu nie mamy dostępu do tych informacji? Albo nawet mamy, ale chcemy zmienić te bądź inne ustawienia naszej domowej sieci? Na szczęście w większości przypadków będzie to nie tylko możliwe, ale też łatwe.

Aby skonfigurować router należy się przede wszystkim z nim połączyć. W tym pierwszym przypadku, gdy nie mamy dostępu do sieci Wi-Fi, wystarczy połączyć się wspomnianym kablem RJ-45. Kiedy jesteśmy połączeni, w przeglądarce internetowej należy wprowadzić adres IP routera w sieci wewnętrznej.

Najczęściej będzie to 192. 168. 1. 1 lub 192. 0. Wpisujemy go w pasek adresu przeglądarki. W razie wątpliwości adres ten można czasami znaleźć na naklejce na samym urządzeniu. Po zrobieniu tego powinno nam się ukazać okno logowania.

Tutaj podać należy login i hasło właściwe dla modelu urządzenia. Najczęściej będzie to użytkownik: admin, hasło: admin lub bez hasła. Jeżeli żadne z tych nie działa, informacje właściwe dla naszego modelu możemy znaleźć w Internecie. Są również umieszczone na nim w formie naklejki przez operatora.

Konfiguracja routera – co można zmienić bez obaw?

Sam dokładny sposób konfiguracji routera będzie już zależał od jego konkretnego modelu. Ogólnie jednak całość odbywa się w formie wybierania opcji i wpisywania wartości w oknie przeglądarki internetowej. Za pomocą takiego interfejsu możemy przede wszystkim zmienić hasło do sieci Wi-Fi. Idealne rozwiązanie? Zmiana na przykład na takie, które będzie nam łatwo zapamiętać. To lepsza opcja niż zdawać się na przypadkowe hasło od operatora.

Bardziej zaawansowani użytkownicy mogą tam też np. ustawić przekierowania portów, co ułatwi im chociażby granie online czy zmodyfikować działanie wbudowanego w router firewalla. Teoretyczne możliwości są tu spore, ale ich szczegóły zależeć będą od konkretnego operatora.

Konfigurowanie routera a bezpieczeństwo informacji

Jeżeli mamy jakieś wątpliwości, a nasz internet działa dobrze, nie ma konieczności zmieniania czegokolwiek w konfiguracji routera. Gdyby jednak pokusić się o zmiany i z jakiegoś powodu spowodowałyby one utratę dostępu do sieci, rozwiązanie jest bardzo proste.

Każdy router posiada funkcję resetu to ustawień fabrycznych. Wystarczy w tym celu wcisnąć i przytrzymać na kilkanaście sekund przycisk. Znajduje się najczęściej w niewielkim otworze, uniemożliwiającym jego przypadkowe aktywowanie. Należy się więc do niego dostać np. za pomocą szpilki.

Po uruchomieniu takiego resetu router powróci do swojej początkowej konfiguracji i znów powinien działać po podłączeniu.
